For almost ten years now people have been flocking to Mrs. Highbrow Amsterdam, because it’s the place to go for brow styling. ‘Brow styling’, you say? Yes, and it’s so much more than just tweezing. Brow styling is about looking for the perfect brow shape and thickness to compliment your features. Hair removal is done by using a thin thread or a very mild wax. The last one sticks to brow hairs, but not to your skin. These methods get rid of even the tiniest bit of down and fuzz. You should also know that every brow we create is tailor-made. We don’t use templates, simply because every single one of our clients is unique.
For quick, painless, mild depilation. Not to be confused with regular waxing, which is much harsher on the skin. Our wax only sticks to hairs, not to the underlying skin, thereby reducing the chance of skin irritation. At Mrs. Highbrow’s we don’t just do eyebrow waxing, but upper lips and other parts of the face as well. In case you recently underwent a peeling or dermabrasia treatment, or if you’re using Roaccutane or any cream with Vitamin A acid, we advise you to choose threading instead.

The name says it all, it’s a method of depilation using of a thread. A centuries-old technique that’s back in focus. It’s even milder than our mild wax, because threading doesn’t pull on skin, so it’s particularly suitable for those with sensitive skin. The only instrument required is a thin thread that is rolled over the skin to snag brow hairs or any other type of facial hair. It cleans up eyebrow contours spectacularly, since the whole root of the hair is removed. It is painful? Hard to say, experiences vary.

Which one to pick?
Waxing or threading: no matter what you choose, the results will be always beautiful. The only difference is the technique. Not sure which one you’d prefer? No problem – when booking your appointment, choose the option ‘waxing or threading’ and talk to the specialist in person to figure out what is right for you. Or try both treatments once and decide for yourself!
By applying dye, brow hairs can be tinted everything from a single shade to several nuances darker. The same product is used to stamp a brow shape on the skin. We use a special henna-based dye. The henna tint lasts up to 4-5 weeks on brow hairs, and will leave a background colour on the skin that can be subtle or somewhat bolder, depending on the chosen hue. The skin tint usually lasts 5 to 14 days, meaning you won’t have to use any makeup during that time. Our special brand of henna is available in a variety of shades, from light to ash blonde, to auburn and dark brown. Keep in mind, however, that even if you opt for a lighter hue the results will be quite pronounced. So if your eyebrows are naturally pale, or if you prefer a more subtle effect, regular brow tint may be the better option. Not sure which type you’d prefer? No problem! Simply book an appointment for any of these tinting treatments, then decide during the intake consultation with your specialist which treatment is the right one for you.
